For many people, it may come as a surprise to learn that ‘hypoallergenic’ is a totally unregulated term. There is no country in the world which provides official certification for a ‘hypoallergenic’ item. This means that the term means whatever a particular company would like it to mean! Overall, this is a term which has considerable marketing-value, when in reality it should simply be ignored by consumers as it is a very misleading term!
